The Order of the Eastern Star is a fraternal organization for men and women dedicated to improving themselves, their families, their communities, and the world, all while having a great time. The origin dates back to the mid-19th century when Dr. Rob Morris, Freemason and Poet Laureate of Masonry, made it his mission to share the principles of Masonry with women. He and his wife, Charlotte Mendenhall Morris, developed the concepts and beliefs that formed the foundation for the Order of the Eastern Star.

The Grand Chapter of Wisconsin began in 1891 under charter from the General Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, the international governing body for the Order. There are chapters in all 50 states and all Canadian provinces, as well as 11 other countries.

LaBelle Chapter was chartered February 22, 1893. There are two business meetings a month that often include programs highlighting local charities or topics of civic interest. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and usually conclude by 8:30 p.m. Chapter members visit shut-ins, work with youth groups, and fundraise to support various statewide, regional, and local charities. We support the residents who live at the Village on the Square located in Dousman through donations of time and money.  Individuals pursuing religious training may apply for special scholarships through the ESTARL program. The Wisconsin Foundation is a 501©3 organization that provides assistance to members in need.

Some of the organizations that LaBelle Chapter has supported include the Vest-a-Dog program, Mukwonago Food Pantry, Food for Families with a local elementary school, UW Carbone Cancer Center, and Ronald McDonald House.

Meetings are on the Second & Fourth Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Recess in July & August
